Fairly standard 1992 Cooper Carb. Lots of mechanical bits re-built. A few personal touches, standard spec engine wise, but hopefully for not much longer.

Front window deflectors (not in current pics), Adjustable, uprated from tie rods, new rear subframe, rebuilt brakes all round.
Lots of repairs - front suspension re-built, new battery, new pads/shoes, rear brake cylinders, new N/S/F wheel bearing, front upper/lower ball joints both sides. new Cooper grill, replacement starter, replacement electronic dissy (courtesy of a Maestro, see they are good cars), electrics sorted out (for safety's sake), new spot lights, 4 new Falkens 165 profile, new head gasket, new CD-Head unit, set of Cobra Clubman Buckets, red inertia real belts, and probably lots more i've forgotten!
Little blighter failed his MOT, but with a nice new genuine rear subby that was soon sorted out! |

Great car, gave me loads of bother but its been a joy getting it sorted out. Still lots to go, some of the upgrades are documented on the realmini.co.uk website, such as the caliper painting etc! Brian was my only transport for the whole of 2001, covered roughly 10,000 less than trouble free miles, although he was only off the road 3 times (1. car broken into, 2. slight ding (resulting in new dissy) 3. dodgy wheel bearing)
So far in 2002 i've only covered about 400 miles! :-( poor lad is going to waste!
2002 what a disaster, on the 7th of June a drunk driver clipped the front offside wing/a-panel and door, on one of the few occasions the car left the driveway! After 9 weeks of wrangling he was sorted, although i'm still chasing my excess. The 3rd piccie, the side on pic, is of Brian after is mini resto! New Genuine wing, A-panel, Scuttle repair, and door, and resprayed on that side!
He looks better than ever, but i decided the nearside could do with looking as good as the off side, i currently have a Genuine Rover Wing, just need to buy an A-panel and scuttle repair and get the other side sorted now. Probably wait until March/April before getting this done.
Look out for one tidy mini this summer at the Scottish mini shows in 2003!
On a foot note, i'm looking for folk to help with the running of RealMini.Co.Uk - if you want to be part of an on-line club, then drop me an email to mini.cooper@orange.net |
